DRISCOLL, Frederika Beatrix (nee Schubtschik)

Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough with her family by her side on Friday, April 12, 2024, in her 76th year.

Fredi was born in Hohenau an der March, Austria in 1948 and immigrated to Kingston, ON in 1954 with her parents, twin sister, and older brother.

Fredi joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a radio operator in 1965. While stationed in Downsview, she met the love of her life, Danny Driscoll. They married in 1975 and welcomed their only child, Danelle, in 1977. Fredi was a loving wife and mother, and a caring healthcare worker, devoting 17 years to the residents of Extendicare Peterborough. Fredi was a talented artisan who enjoyed painting, sewing, scrapbooking, teddy bear-making, and also fishing.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 48 years, Danny; daughter Danelle (Paul DaSilva); grandsons Jacob (Brigitte McGee) and Spencer DaSilva; siblings Christine MacDonald and Josef Schwarzinger (Carmen); in-laws Richard Driscoll (Janet), Julie Bell (Harvie), Jill Larocque (Bill), Jayne Haywood (Danny), and Joanne Reamey (Gary); and her many nieces and nephews.

Fredi was predeceased by her parents, Fredrick and Bertha; godson, Greg Bell; niece, Lisa Irish; and great-nephews, Brian Schwarzinger and Dylan Irish.

Funeral Prayers will be held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Saturday, April 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Private Family Interment to follow. Reception at Highland Park Reception Centre.

The family wants to express their gratitude to the medical staff at PRHC Emergency, B3 (Inpatient Medicine Unit), and D2 (Palliative Care), specifically Dr. Mallory; and the staff at Hospice Peterborough for their care.
